At UVA Cancer Center, We're for Making Our Patients Healthy

  • Everything we do at UVA Cancer Center is focused on improving and maintaining the health of our patients. By offering unique screenings and high-risk cancer programs, advanced treatment options and clinical trials that aren’t available at other local and regional cancer centers, we strive to find cancer sooner.

Excellence in Patient Care

Our Commitment to You

As an NCI-designated cancer center, we're considered one of the top 69 cancer research hospitals in the country. Being at the forefront of cancer research allows us to turn our discoveries into actual treatments, helping more patients have better clinical outcomes. Our goal is to take the best care of all patients that come through our doors and that means offering unique cancer treatment options and support services that exceed your expectations and make you better as quickly as possible.

At UVA Cancer Center, we're also for:

  • Delivering Care Close to Home

UVA Community Cancer Care in Augusta, Culpeper and at Pantops, gives patients across Virginia convenient access to cancer specialists and treatment facilities. Our regional centers help you overcome the barrier of traveling for quality cancer care. We also have the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center located at the main hospital.

    Giving Second Opinions

Our goal in offering second opinions is to ensure your cancer is treated precisely, in the right place at the right time. UVA cancer doctors carefully review each new case, look at all the options we have for treating the cancer at UVA and tailor a treatment plan specific to each patient’s illness.

    A Team Approach

Our teams of medical and surgical oncologists, radiologists, researchers, oncology nurses, palliative care doctors, social workers, nutritionists and patient educators work together as experts in their respective areas to provide comprehensive care for our patients.

    Supporting Family & Caregivers

We recognize the vital role that family and caregivers play throughout a patient’s cancer journey. Counseling and educational materials are available to caregivers so they have the support they need to stay emotionally strong, healthy and focused on the patient.
